Casting agent dismissed after seeking extras with ‘light skin tones’

A casting agent working on director Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit was fired from the production after placing ads in a regional New Zealand newspaper seeking extras with “light skin tones,” according to Agence France-Presse.

For Colored Girls, Tyler Perry, and the Black male image in the media

Tyrese, Ludacris, The Rock, & Vin Diesel star in Fast and Furious 5

On their Twitter accounts, actors Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris announced that they will be in the fifth installment of the ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise. “Just landed in Puerto Rico. Shooting for Fast & Furious 5 is about to be underway,” stated Ludacris.
