Members from four Historically Black Colleges and Universities(HBCU’s)alumni chapters set aside school rivalries, in the name of giving recently, if only for a day. FAMU pitched in with Bethune Cookman while Morehouse worked alongside Hampton during their annual Turkey basket give-away.
Some people give selflessly to anyone in need due to their altruistic nature. The rest of us need to be nudged a little in order to do the right thing. If you find yourself in the latter group, here are some ways that you can benefit yourself under the guise of “helping others.”
On May 1st Morehouse College will host Converse “Band of Baller” a charity event featuring artist from a number of Atlanta’s music scenes including Jermaine Dupri, Shawty Lo, OJ Da Juiceman and Jim Jones and punk rock band “the Black Lips” to name a few.
The University of Houston softball team will host Southern University in the softball team’s 4th Annual Striking Out Breast Cancer game at Cougar Softball Stadium on Wednesday, March 11.
